Long Beach City College (LBCC) is a part of the California Community College System. It is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC).LBCC started its service on the Woodrow Wilson High School campus in 1927. Later, in 1935, the college was relocated to its present Liberal Arts Campus, at Clark Avenue and Carson Street in Long Beach. Today, Long Beach City College, with its two campuses, caters the diverse educational needs of the community.LBCC offers certification, associate and bachelor degrees, and honors programs in academic and vocational fields. In addition, LBCC offers a senior student program, weekend classes and off-campus programs at various community locations.The major academic schools of the college are Business and Social Science, Creative Arts and Applied Science, Language Arts and Physical Education, Health and Science, Trade and Industrial Technologies, and Learning Resources, Teaching and Technologies.The libraries at the two campuses together hold more than 140,000 volumes. The Center for Learning Assistance Services strives to improve the students' academic potential through workshops, instruction courses and learning skills classes.
